There are 150 members.

 

They meet on Monday: 2.30 p.m. - 4.00 p.m. for cards (Bridge and other card games) - Tea/Coffee and chat.

On Wednesday afternoon there is a Bowling Club.

Also on some Mondays and Wednesdays they have a entertainer or show videos of holidays they have had, or videos of interest.Talks by, for example, Local Health Nurse on health matters, entitlement of elderly etc; Bank Official on  Money matters; Lawyer - wills, legal matters etc.

Outings take place about once a month usually on Tuesday.

Holidays  -  twice in the year (Mostly in Ireland).  One in Spring and one in September.

In Winter outings to Rathmines & Rathgar Concerts (Gaiety Theatre/National Concert Hall).

Party at Christmas  - outside venue or Parish Centre.

Irish Countrywomen’s Association

 Principal Venue:  Parish Centre.

 

The I.C.A. has been in the Parish for 44 years.   It is known as Rathfarnham Guild, under which name it started.

 Membership 42.

The I.C.A. meets on the 1st Thursday of every month - 7.30 p.m. in the Parish Centre -

Business Night (local matters relating to Rathfarnham Guild and any information coming from Headquarters) - also there would be a visitor giving talk on a topic of interest or entertainment - video, quiz etc. and tea/coffee.

 Every Wednesday morning there are Craft Sessions - 10.30 a.m. - 12.00.

bullet

 The Christmas Dinner is usually held in the Parish Centre.

bullet

 There are visits to the theatre and places of interest within easy reach of Churchtown.

bullet

 There is a Craft Day on the Saturday afternoon after Easter to which people are invited from other Guilds.

bullet

There are various classes and a specialist teacher in attendance to give instruction.

bullet

 Some members visit An Grianán and pass along what they have learnt there to the other members.

 To join you can come along on any of the first Thursdays or any of the Wednesday mornings.
